Full Job Description
What You'll Do

As a Nurse Supervisor, you'll lead and inspire nursing and AMAP staff to deliver high-quality, person-centered care. You'll serve as a mentor, clinical expert, and decision-maker-fostering excellence in care and promoting a collaborative, supportive work environment.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Lead and supervise nursing operations during the day shift (12:00 PM - 8:00 PM).
  • Provide clinical leadership, coaching, mentoring, and performance oversight to RNs, LPNs, AMAP Medication Technicians, and Direct Support Professionals.
  • Oversee the clinical practice of AMAP Medication Technicians, ensuring medication administration practices comply with OPWDD regulations, Agency policies, and New York State requirements. Provide education, coaching, and corrective guidance as needed.
  • Ensure high-quality, person-centered nursing care that meets Agency, OPWDD, DOH, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, residential leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive healthcare services.
  • Monitor clinical documentation, medication administration, health assessments, physician orders, and care plans for quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support investigations, incident follow-up, infection prevention, quality improvement initiatives, and survey readiness.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, clinical excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Assist with staffing coordination, clinical decision-making, operational problem-solving, and after-hours clinical support as needed.
