Description of Work
The primary purpose of the Nurse Supervisor is to provide professional nursing service to JFK-ADATC patients. The Nursing Supervisor is an integral part of the Nursing Department and assumes responsibility for the nursing needs of the patients across an entire shift. This position is directly accountable to the Director of Nursing for all work performed. The Nursing Supervisor stays within the guidelines of the NC Nurse Practice Act, Code of Ethics for nurses, Medical and Nursing Policy and Procedures and the regulations and standards set forth by the State, CMS, and JCAHO. The Nursing Supervisor administratively and clinically supervises nursing staff personnel. They must work with management to oversee the daily functioning of the facility by assuring adequate staffing coverage and directing staff as they perform their duties.

Recruitment Range: $71,698 to 118,304

This position will work 12-hour days, (6:45am-7:15pm) and every other weekend, some holidays

This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.

Per G.S. 126-5 (c1) (37), this position is Exempt from all provisions of NC General Statute Chapter 126 (State Human Resources Act) with the exception of Articles 6 and 7. Positions in the Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities shall be subject to pre-employment drug testing and criminal record background checks. Also, the use of tobacco products of any kind including vapor products are prohibited from our campuses. All employees are required to adhere to the facility's Vaccination Policy.

*Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus

To qualify for the Sign-on Bonus, a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate.

An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:
  • The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system, within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date)
  • The employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency
  • DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.

JFK is a 68-bed inpatient treatment facility designed to meet the needs of alcohol and other drug dependent adults of the 37 westernmost counties in North Carolina. The facility treats chemically dependent consumers and those who have substance abuse and psychiatric diagnosis. JFK is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations as a Behavioral Health facility and certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as an inpatient psychiatric hospital.
