Full Job Description
The Wound Care Nurse Practitioner will plan, direct, and evaluate care given to referred patients. The Nurse Practitioner will examine and treat chronic and acute episodic wounds, performs selected laboratory testing; and perform bedside procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipment. The Nurse Practitioner will also work with the medical director in the care and treatment of inpatients by referring physicians. Qualifications include being a graduate of an accredited college or university with a Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing, a Master degree as a Nurse Practitioner is required, knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding, strong assessment skills, ability to prescribe medication appropriately, and ability to work independently. If NP, licensure in North Carolina as NP. Must maintain appropriate DEA licensure, and current ACLS and BLS certification. One or more years experience as FNP preferred, and a certification in wound care or able to obtain within first 30 days of employment.
