Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Physician Assistant program approved by an accredited medical body.
• NCCPA certification and current Physician Assistant licensure in South Carolina.
• BLS certification required.
• Knowledge of a wide variety of medical conditions, diseases, and types of injuries.
• Excellent communication skills; Certificate of Added Qualification in Emergency Medicine preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform health histories and physical exams; provide individual and group health education.
• Order and interpret laboratory and radiological tests with physician approval.
• Make diagnoses and formulate treatment plans, prescribing medications as allowed by state laws.
• Refer complex cases to the supervising physician for further evaluation.
• Provide emergency care according to training to prevent loss of life, limb or eyesight.
• Participate in clinic operations, including policy development and operational improvements.
