The Department of Otolaryngology is seeking candidates for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to function as an independent practitioner with the support of our physicians. They will provide comprehensive, continuous, and personalized care to patients. The individual will provide patient/family education and will be expected to participate in teaching. This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 hours/week), Monday-Friday position.
Essential Functions- Perform appropriate history and physical for complex, acute, critical, and chronically ill patients
- Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests.
- Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.
- Monitor the effectiveness of interventions.
- Maintain accurate medical records.
- Collaborate with other providers and members of the health care team in delivery of care and make appropriate referrals when needed.
- Educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans.
- Facilitate staff, patient, and family decision making using evidence-based practice
- Participate in research and development projects.
- Participate in education of APPs, APP students and medical students.

Minimum RequirementsNurse Practitioner- A Master's degree in Nursing and graduation from an accredited ANA approved Nurse Practitioner Program.
- National certification by ANCC or AANP.
- Current/Valid license in the state of Ohio.
Physician Assistant- Graduation from a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review.
- Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessor agencies.
- National Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
- Current/Valid license in the state of Ohio.
