General Function

The Nurse Practitioner is a member of the Magers Health and Wellness Center medical staff whose primary responsibility is to provide medical services within the scope of licensing, training and credentialing.

Description of Primary Duties

1. Practices medicine within the scope of license.

2. Practices medicine within the scope of training.

3. Practices medicine within the scope of credentialing.

4. Practices medicine in accordance with current standards of care.

5. Practices medicine in accordance with AAAHC standards and those adopted by Magers Health and Wellness.

6. Promotes a safety-conscious workforce and maintains good medical practices.

7. Demonstrates the ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual patient care appropriate to the age of patients served by demonstrative knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.

8. Communicates appropriately with the patient served regardless of their age, sex or race.

9. Ensures optimal operations of Magers Health and Wellness by conferring with the Coordinator of Medical Services regarding administrative policies and procedures of Magers Health of Magers Health and Wellness and the University

10. Provides input and remains current on operation of Magers Health and Wellness by attending staff meetings when appropriate.

11. Remains knowledgeable about current trends in medicine by participating in professional development through presentations, publications and memberships in professional organizations and obtaining Continuing Education Units (CEUs)as required by the state licensing and regulatory boards.

12. Contributes to overall function of Magers Health and Wellness by completing all other tasks which are assigned by the Coordinator of Medical Services or Director.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

Education: Graduate of Accredited School offering an Advanced Degree in Nurse Practitioner preferably in adult or family practice.

Licensure: Must be professionally licensed in Missouri, current registration with US DEA and Missouri controlled substance registration (BNDD) by date of hire.

Experience: Prior experience of at least one year as a Nurse Practitioner is required.
