Job Summary

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) shall provide comprehensive management of patients within his/her given specialty and according to privileges approved by the Medical Staff office. The NP has responsibility, authority and accountability for the provision of care through supervision by and collaboration with a physician. The NP manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication and collaboration with all team members. The NP establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.
The NP shall work under the supervision of a physician.

Participates in performance improvement activities as appropriate and promotes and fosters an atmosphere of teamwork and excellence among staff.

• Certification as FNP- BCCertification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Must be credentialed according to Mon Health's Medical Staff bylaws and appointed as Allied Health Professional Affiliate Staff.
• Basic Life SupportMust possess or obtain basic life support (BLS) certification within the probationary period and maintain certification.
