Job Title: Nurse Practitioner - Primary Care (Pediatrics)
Location: Fort Drum U.S. Army Medical Department Activity
Job Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide high-quality primary care services in a pediatric-focused clinic at Fort Drum. This role supports active-duty service members and their families within a military treatment facility, delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care for infants through adolescents.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care
  • Perform comprehensive health assessments for pediatric patients (infants through adolescents)
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and diagnostics
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans
  • Prescribe medications, immunizations, and therapeutic interventions
  • Manage common pediatric illnesses, chronic diseases, and minor injuries
  • Provide preventive care, including well-child exams and developmental screenings

Patient & Family Education
  • Educate families on growth, development, and health maintenance
  • Counsel on medication use, safety, and follow-up care
  • Promote preventive health practices and lifestyle guidance

Collaboration & Coordination
  • Work closely with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals
  • Coordinate referrals and specialty care follow-ups
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EHR system
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and military healthcare policies
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance evaluations


Military Environment Support
  • Deliver care within a military treatment facility setting
  • Support medical readiness initiatives (e.g., immunizations, reporting)
  • Collaborate with military healthcare teams serving active-duty members and dependents


Qualifications
