Position Summary:
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide flex coverage across the Pediatric Transplant Center (all organs) and Heart Center, with primary responsibilities in Ambulatory Cardiology, Advanced Cardiac Therapies (ACT), and the ACCU medical team, caring for patients with congenital and acquired heart disease, cardiomyopathy, heart failure, and pre-/post-transplant needs.

This role offers flexible coverage across the Pediatric Transplant Center and Heart Center, providing exposure to pediatric and adult populations. The NP will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, family-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:
Ambulatory Cardiology
  • Provide outpatient care to pediatric and young adult patients with congenital and acquired heart disease.
  • Perform assessments, develop treatment plans, manage chronic conditions, and provide patient/family education.
  • Collaborate with cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate longitudinal care.
Solid Organ Transplant
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient care across the transplant continuum, including evaluation, education and long-term follow-up.
  • Maintain transplant regulations.
  • Cross-train with transplant NPs (heart, lung, liver, kidney, intestine) to support coverage.
  • Manage immunosuppressive therapy and collaborate with physicians on rejection and infection management.
  • Participate in quality improvement and multidisciplinary care.
ACT
  • Support longitudinal care coordination, including communication with patients and families regarding home care, clinic visits, billing, and regulatory requirements.
ACCU Medical Team
  • Provide care for pediatric and adult patients with cardiac conditions, including congenital heart disease, arrhythmias, heart failure, and pre-/post-transplant care, including non-cardiac medical issues.
  • Coordinate acute and chronic care, discharge planning, and transitions of care.
  • Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams across inpatient, CICU, cath lab, and clinic settings.
  • Participate in rounds, team meetings and patient education.
Schedule: 40 hrs./wk., days with the possibility of up to 25% nights, every 3rd weekend, and some holidays when covering ACCU, based on program needs.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • Graduate degree from an accredited NP program.
Experience:
  • 2+ years of pediatric RN experience required (critical care, cardiology, or transplant preferred).
  • New graduate NPs with 5+ years of inpatient RN experience (critical care, cardiology, or transplant) will be considered.
Licensure/Certifications:
  • Current MA NP license and PNP or FNP certification.

• BLS and PALS required.

This role offers a competitive sign-on bonus ranging from: $5,000 to $20,000, based on your experience.
