Full Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Provides psychiatric evaluation and on-going treatment.  Ensures accuracy of diagnosis and appropriate pharmacological intervention.  Monitors for medication side effects.  Supports appropriate multi-disciplinary interventions.  Maintains the electronic medical record.  Performs all above tasks under the supervision of a licensed physician and assures appropriate documentation of supervision in compliance with State regulations.  Interacts with other staff in a professional manner.  Attends specified clinic, medical staff, and educational meetings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and provide medication management.
  • Collaborates with treatment team members for medical supervision, utilizing advanced knowledge of psychopathology and psychopharmacology to assist clinical team members in diagnosis, case formulation, and choice of treatment interventions.
  • Maintains effective, collaborative relationship with Psychiatrists.
  • Meets billable hour productivity standards.
  • Completes clinical documentation within one business day of the service provided.
  • Completes treatment plans and other clinical service authorizations in a timely manner.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Level              

Masters Degree in Nursing required(Clinical Nurse Specialist or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner). 

Years of Experience       

One year of experience in Psychiatric Nursing environment or mental health care environment is preferred.

Certification/Licensure 

Must have or be able to quickly obtain prescriptive authority in Indiana.
