NURSE PRACTITIONER

JOB DESCRIPTION

You will play a vital role in our goal to serve our patients, their families and support physicians in the community. Join us in keeping our kiddos happy and healthy!

REPORTS TO

Director of Operations

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Provides patient services under the direct supervision and responsibility of the designated supervising staff physician
  2. Obtains medical and personal histories
  3. Performs initial examinations, including physical exams and patient observations
  4. Educates patients and families
  5. Prioritizes and assesses patients
  6. Provides primary care through wellness visits and assessment
  7. Diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses to a variety of patients
  8. Maintains standard universal precautions
  9. Prescribes medications and completes treatments according to office policies and within age-specific parameters
  10. Maintains and completes all necessary patient record documentation
  11. Assist Practice Manager in clinical skills guidance and training for clinical staff
  12. Other duties as assigned


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required
  1. Licensed in the state of Texas as a Registered Nurse
  2. Unrestricted active Nurse Practitioner Texas license
  3. Board Certified
  4. Master's Degree in Nursing
  5. Graduate of an Advanced Nurse Practitioner accredited program.
  6. At least 3 years experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner
  7. Positive, energetic attitude
  8. Team oriented with strong sense of personal responsibility
  9. Solid multi-tasking, problem solving and organizational skills

Preferred
  1. Demonstrated computer skills with EMR experience preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

The employee is routinely required to sit frequently, use a keyboard, mouse, telephone, headset, and other standard office equipment. Frequently communicate via text, email, phone, chat and video. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. May work in a noisy or distracting environment. This job will require exposure to patient elements.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

The core hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. but can vary depending on location. This position may require some evening or weekend work depending on location.
