Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Patient Safety Specialist, RN Acute, you will support the patient safety program by reducing harm, fostering a culture of safety, and driving High Reliability Organization initiatives, specifically leading the response to serious clinical and high-risk events.
Every day you will serve as a safety subject matter expert by analyzing events, interpreting data for decision-making, managing complex workstreams, coaching staff on disclosure, leading program projects, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
To be successful in your role, you will need strong clinical nursing expertise to assess the Standard of Care, independent judgment to prioritize safety events, and the professional diplomacy required to collaborate on sensitive, confidential matters with executive and cross-functional teams.
- Conducts and/or facilitates the investigation, analysis, classification and corrective action planning for serious safety events, major unanticipated clinical events and high-risk near-miss events.
- Participates in regulatory and performance improvement.
- Participates in audit, tracer, rounding and gap analysis processes.
- Prepares and delivers educational content to staff, providers and managers.
- Provides formal written and verbal reports regarding safety events.

Job Requirements
Required
- Oregon RN license
- BSN
- Three (3) years related work experience that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge/abilities
Preferred
- Certified Professional in Patient Safety
