Lincoln Prairie Behavioral Health is looking for a

Nurse Manager is the administrative leader for their respective unit. The position requires responsibility and accountability for the individual nursing care provided to patients and families and for the management of a safe and therapeutic milieu. The CNM acts as a clinical role model providing clinical leadership, teaching and supervision of nursing staff. This position is responsible for the coordinated delivery of patient care in accordance with the established standards of care, mental health practice and hospital policy, goals and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Assumes overall responsibility for the provision of patient care services on assigned unit.
- Maintains and clarifies professional expectations of staff in accordance with missions and vision of LPBHC.
- Supervises all activities of the clinical staff on their assigned unit.
- Schedules staff according to acuity and budgetary guidelines.
- Identifies strengths and growth opportunities for individual staff members and team as a whole.
- Works specifically to empower and assist with professional development of unit charge nurses.
- Facilitates continual growth of nursing staff through support, education and resources as needed.
- Assists in orientation as needed and oversees staff onboarding for designated shift.
- Completes designated staff performance and competency evaluation.
- Investigates patient and employee complaints / allegations as needed.
- Attends patient staffings, debriefings and supplementals as schedule allows.
- Attends shared governance meetings for each unit.
- Attends quality improvement meetings and any other meeting requested by the CNO
- Assists the CNO in implementing facility policies and procedures.
- Assists the CNO in developing, assessing, reviewing and implementing Performance Improvement.
- Completes audits as assigned by the CNO, including chart audits, hand hygiene audits, and environmental rounds.
- Serves as Nurse On Call during designated hours as assigned.
- Ensure the unit environment and nursing stations are kept neat and functional.
- Inventory equipment on unit each month.
- Ensures staff perform quality shift reports.
- Supports Assessment and Referral department as needed.

Qualifications Education: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing required. Bachelor's of Science in Nursing preferred.
Experience: Two (2) years' experience as a registered nurse required, preferably in a psychiatric health care facility, and five (5) years' RN experience preferred. Supervisor and managerial experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed to practice by the Illinois State Board of Nursing. Successful completion of CPR certification, age-specific training and the current patient aggression management training, including appropriate use of Seclusion and Restraint, within 90 days of employment. Must pass a medication administration exam. Must have a valid driver's license.
