Registered Nurse (RN) Nurse Manager

Job Type: Full Time

JOB SUMMARY:

The Nurse Manager functions under the direction and supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer and assumes responsibility for the Nursing Department. The Nurse Manager in collaboration with the CNO and leadership team assists in implementing, interpret and ensure compliance with policies and procedures including regulatory and accreditation standards.  The Nurse Manager supervises the Clinical Supervisors, Charge Nurses, RNs, LPN/LVNs, CNAs/NAs and Unit Secretaries.  The Nurse Manager is responsible for implementing hospital goals and objectives based on budget parameters. The Nurse Manager reinforces the mission and vision of the hospital in all interactions. 

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Maintains a professional, safe, and compliant nursing environment by ensuring adherence to nursing scope of practice, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and quality care requirements.
  • Oversees nursing operations, including staffing plans, patient assignments, scheduling, nursing hours per patient day, attendance, overtime management, agency utilization, and staff break/lunch compliance.
  • Ensures accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation, including medical necessity requirements, interdisciplinary care plans, charting, and quality improvement data.
  • Promotes staff competency and professional development through orientation, education, in-service training, competency validation, and support for rehabilitation nursing certifications.
  • Monitors and communicates quality, risk, patient satisfaction, and outcome measures to drive continuous performance improvement.
  • Coordinates admissions, room assignments, staffing needs, and nursing participation in interdisciplinary team conferences.
  • Provides leadership and support for rehabilitation-focused patient care, including patient and family education, care coordination, discharge planning, and continuum-of-care needs.
  • Serves as a rehabilitation nursing resource and liaison among patients, families, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team.
  • Assists with patient and family rounding, daily care coordination, problem resolution, and follow-up to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from an accredited Bachelors of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. BSN Preferred.
  • Current unrestricted state licensure as Registered Nurse.
  • CPR/BCLS certification. ACLS preferred.   
  • CRRN Certification preferred
  • Minimum of two years of previous nursing leadership preferred.
  • Minimum of two years previous rehab nursing experience preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
