Job Description Summary
Under limited supervision, the Perioperative Manager, in collaboration with other health professionals and in an environment that is respectful of others, accountable for outcomes and adaptive to change, ensures effective clinical and financial daily operations of the areas of responsibility. This role is accountable for all aspects of personnel including recruitment, retention, orientation and on-going evaluation using the just culture principles to ensure the delivery of highly reliable quality patient care. This role requires a commitment to life-long learning and professional development in order to continue to meet the ever-changing needs of the patients served now and in the future.

Job Summary/Purpose:The Nurse Manager reports to the Director/Service Line Administrator. The Nurse Manager ensures the provision of his/her departments in collaboration with other health professionals in an environment that is respectful of others, accountable for outcomes and adaptive to change. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the planning and comprehensive operations of department/unit on a 24-hour basis.

Minimum Training and Education: Bachelor degree in Nursing (BSN), and currently enrolled in Master's program from an accredited college/university. A minimum of five (5) years of nursing work experience required (three years of nursing experience and two years of supervisory experience). Credentials: Certification in specialty area preferred or completion within one year of eligibility strongly encouraged.

Current knowledge of procedures, techniques, equipment, technical advances and regulatory agencies and standards within the field of healthcare required. Ability to implement sound business and human resource management principles essential.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations:Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or compact state required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
