Annual Hiring Salary: $82,000 to $88,320 + $10,000 Sign-on Bonus

Schedule: Primarily Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Nurse Manager, Registered Nurse (RN)

The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Nurse Manager to lead nursing operations at the BJ Roberts Behavioral Health Center. This leadership opportunity is ideal for a compassionate, experienced behavioral health nurse who is committed to delivering high-quality, recovery-focused care for individuals experiencing mental health and substance use crises.

As the RN Nurse Manager, you will provide clinical leadership while overseeing the daily operations of the nursing team. Working closely with psychiatrists, therapists, providers, and other multidisciplinary professionals, you will help ensure clients receive timely, coordinated, and person-centered care in a safe and therapeutic environment.
What You'll Do
  • Supervise and support the daily operations of the nursing team.
  • Coordinate psychiatric and medical services for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises.
  • Oversee nursing assessments, crisis interventions, medication administration, and ongoing clinical monitoring.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, medical providers, therapists, and other multidisciplinary team members to coordinate client care.
  • Review clinical documentation to ensure accuracy, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor compliance with agency policies and state and federal regulations.
  • Coordinate staffing schedules to help ensure appropriate nursing coverage.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, evaluate, and support nursing staff while fostering professional development.
  • Serve as a liaison between the program, healthcare providers, pharmacies, and community partners.
  • Promote a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-oriented environment.
  • Participate in quality improvement, risk management, and program development initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • At least one (1) year of behavioral health nursing experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Ability to register as a QMHP-Trainee within 30 days of hire.
  • Valid Virginia driver's license.
  • BSN preferred.
