Qualifications:
SCF programs are established to serve a primary population comprised of Alaska Native people who are affiliated with Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) and Alaska Native and American Indian people within SCF's geographical service area. Employees should have a thorough understanding of the cultures and the needs of this population. Such knowledge is critical to ensure the achievement of SCF's vision of a Native Community that enjoys physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness, and mission of working together with the Native Community to achieve wellness through health and related services:
1. Master's degree in nursing; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Licensed in the State of Alaska as a Registered Nurse.
3. Three (3) years of experience in theory-based nursing and a multi-disciplinary team environment.
4. One (1) year of progressive leadership responsibilities such as leading a team, project, or initiative.
5. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO and PALS as required for specialty and any certification relating to the scope of practice as required.
Additional Qualifications for Detox Center department:
1. Obtain Qualified Addiction Professional (QAP) specialty designation within six (6) months of hire.
Additional Qualifications for Nurse Director II:
1. Demonstrated proficiency as a Nurse Director I at SCF.
Native Preference:
Under P.L. 93-638, as amended, the company pursues a policy of Native preference in hiring, contracting and training. SCF Human Resources must receive certification before applicants receive preference.
