Job Summary

At this time, only current PSEG employees are being considered.

Direct activities of Test Engineers in the Chemical, Mechanical, and Electrical testing disciplines of the Nuclear Testing Services (NTS) group remotely stationed at PSEG Nuclear in providing technical solutions in the testing and analysis of power plant equipment in support of nuclear operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver technical services consistent with client expectations.
  • Provide direction and technical expertise to achieve organizational, financial, and operational objectives.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of self and group personnel. Including work planning/coordination, on-the-job training, testing, inspection, and initiating requisitions for procurement of tools, materials, equipment, and etc. from vendors and services from contractors.
  • Responsible for calibration & storage of instrument test/measuring equipment and ensuring personnel are knowledgeable of and in compliance with applicable Standards and Procedures.
  • Participate in Station and Department planning activities.
  • Support Client Specific programs - such as Preventative Maintenance/Predictive Maintenance and Root Cause Analysis to assist in lowering operating and maintenance costs and meeting reliability goals.
  • Daily supervision, monitoring and coaching of employees to ensure a productive workforce in compliance with company policies, procedures and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Supervise activities of the group, ensuring a safe work environment.
  • Train, coach & counsel in strengthening technical skills and building teamwork.
  • Communicate with Manager on a routine basis to ensure high standards and client expectations are met.
  • Ensure testing activities are executed IAW established procedures, work instructions, QA, and regulatory requirements.
  • Plan, schedule and execute work in a cost-efficient manner.
  • Consult with Clients in developing solutions.
  • Act as laboratory manager for the HBLF lab IAW the chemical hygiene plan.
  • Implement corporate and department policies.
  • Communicate with other departments (Ops, Maint and Eng), to resolve problems.
  • Ensure Client specific programs are implemented.
  • Apply IBEW Agreement and the Positive Discipline Process.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned.
  • This position oversees chemical, mechanical, and electrical testing tasks.


Job Specific Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related science/engineering degree and 5 years of experience.
  • Related work experience may be considered in lieu of an engineering/science degree.
  • Two years of related supervisory experience.
  • Ability to read charts, check calculations, review reports, etc. as it pertains to the work.
  • Ability to achieve certification to ANSI Level III within technical discipline(s) as applicable.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, written and computer skills including knowledge and proficiency in MS Office Suite products.
  • Demonstrated good verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must obtain an acceptable score on the First Line Supervisor's Test (FLST).
  • Must meet and maintain Nuclear's unescorted site access.
  • A valid Real ID or an approved form of alternate documentation
    (https://www.pseg.com/IDrequirement) is required for this position by May 7, 2027.

Desired
  • Advanced degree in Engineering.
  • Technical knowledge in the area(s) of electrical, chemical, and mechanical testing of power plant components including, but not limited to transformer Doble testing, misc. electrical tests, various types of leak detection, leak rate testing, well sampling, diesel fuel oil analysis, transformer oil sampling and analysis, etc.
  • Knowledge of State, Federal and Local government regulations as they apply to nuclear power plants.
  • Knowledge of SAP.
