Job Description

Nuclear Medicine Technologist, $25,000 Sign on Bonus

Overview

Under general supervision, performs diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures with radioisotope and radiation detection technology

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate clinical competence in Nuclear Medicine Technology while performing a full range of general and cardiac studies for inpatient and outpatient populations, as prescribed by physicians.
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and adjunct medications in accordance with established protocols and safety standards.
  • Operate nuclear medicine instrumentation and advanced computer systems to acquire, process, and enhance diagnostic images.
  • Provide high-quality images, data analysis, and patient information to physicians to support accurate diagnostic interpretation.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures in compliance with departmental policies and radiologist-established protocols.
  • Accurately document patient care activities and maintain records within electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.
  • Adhere to radiation safety, infection control, and regulatory standards, including Joint Commission, state, federal, and departmental requirements.
  • Ensure the safe handling, storage, and delivery of radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment; monitor and manage supplies and inventory.
  • Identify, document, and report equipment malfunctions or environmental concerns in accordance with policy.
  • Participate in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives to enhance workflow, patient experience, and quality of care.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, including training, continuing education, and participation in the Clinical Ladder Program while maintaining all required standards.
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork, communication skills, and the ability to manage sensitive patient situations with professionalism and empathy.


Work Experience
Qualifications

Education
  • Graduation with a certificate or advanced degree in radiation therapy or nuclear medicine from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education (USDE) or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

Experience
  • No Experience Required; New grads welcome

Licensures/Certifications
  • Registered with American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT) (N) and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (CNMT)
  • Licensed Nuclear Medicine Technologist - State of MD
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification

Preferred

Education
  • Bachelor of Science

Experience
  • 2+ years

Licensures/Certifications
  • NMTCB (CT) or ARRT (CT)

Compensation:

Pay Range: $36.83 - $55.29
