  • Position patients accurately and select appropriate technical factors.
  • Order, prepare, administer, and manage radiopharmaceuticals according to protocols.
  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ensure high-quality images and documents are submitted to PACS.
  • Perform routine checks and maintenance on imaging equipment.
  • Report and address any equipment malfunctions or issues found.

Department: Nuclear Medicine

Shift timings: 08:00-16:30 Monday to friday (8 Hours/5 Days)

Per Week: 40 Hours
Graduate from an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program or Associate's Degree in related field required Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred Must have one of the following primary certification: NMTCB(CNMT) - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist ARRT(N) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Nuclear Medicine Technology Additional post-primary advanced certification preferred:ARRT(CT) - American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Computed Tomography NMTCB(PET) - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board Positron Emission Tomography NMTCB(NCT) - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board Nuclear Cardiology Technologist

Requirements

2 years of post-program graduate experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist required BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required CTNM - State of California Certified Tech Nuclear Medicine all scopes including venipuncture required

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and operate cameras that detect and map radioactive drugs in a patient's body to create diagnostic images.
  • Position patients and select anatomic and technical factors accurately.
  • Order, prepare, administer, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
  • Ensure equipment is properly functioning.
  • Report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.
  • Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, and orderly department.
