ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a senior NNPI Control Officer (NNPICO) to build, lead, and enforce the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPI) Protection Program across Anduril's Maritime business line.This is a high-authority, mission-critical role. The NNPICO acts as the primary authority responsible for ensuring full compliance with Naval Reactors, NAVSEA, and Department of the Navy security directives.This position spans both program architecture (designing compliant security plans and procedures) and active enforcement (ensuring operational and technical compliance across engineering, manufacturing, and IT environments).
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Own the NNPI Protection Program: Architect, implement, and maintain the NNPI Security Plan in strict alignment with NAVSEA NN-801, OPNAVINST N9210.3, and applicable security classification guides.
  • Exercise Marking Authority: Serve as the designated authority for determining, applying, and verifying NNPI/NOFORN markings on all technical data, drawings, hardware, and digital files.
  • Enforce Access Control and Need-to-Know: Establish and manage rigorous access-control protocols. Actively grant, monitor, and revoke NNPI access based on verified citizenship, clearance, and operational necessity.
  • Prevent Foreign Disclosure: Enforce strict controls prohibiting the disclosure or exposure of NNPI to foreign nationals, foreign entities, or unauthorized personnel in accordance with export control laws and government directives.
  • Partner with Information Security and IT: Collaborate with Information Security and IT Teams to ensure digital environments, air-gapped networks, and storage media processing NNPI meet accredited federal standards (e.g., NIST SP 800-171/CMMC Level 2+).
  • Lead Audits and Incident Response: Serve as the primary liaison to government security officers for compliance inspections. Direct the investigation, containment, and reporting of security infractions, data spills, or unauthorized disclosures.
  • Drive Training and Security Culture: Develop and deliver mandatory NNPI handling and awareness training for all cleared personnel, engineers, and program managers.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Security Clearance: Active U.S. Secret clearance (or higher), or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
  • Prior NNPICO Experience: Proven experience as a designated NNPICO or Assistant NNPICO with an organization routinely handling NNPI (defense contractor, shipyard, or military command).
  • Regulatory Expertise: In-depth working knowledge of NAVSEA NN-801, OPNAVINST N9210.3, and DoD CUI handling guidelines.
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical military/defense industry experience) with 5+ years of security compliance or classified program management experience.
  • Authority and Leadership: Demonstrated ability to independently enforce compliance across cross-functional engineering, executive, and operational teams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Prior service in the U.S. Navy Nuclear Propulsion Program (Submarine, Surface, or Shipyard/Naval Reactors facility).
  • Direct experience establishing an NNPI environment for a new program or facility from the ground up.
  • Familiarity with NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117), ITAR, and NIST SP 800-171 compliance frameworks.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.


US Salary Range

$146,000-$194,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
