Full Job Description
Job Summary:
Accountable for planning, promoting, coordinating, implementing and evaluating educational activities. Accountable, in collaboration with area leadership teams, for promoting a continuous learning environment that supports ongoing staff development for assigned clinical areas. This position practices within the scope of the Respiratory Care Practice Act, and in accordance with Valley Children's Hospital policies.

Qualifications:

Education
  • Program An approved respiratory care program (required)
  • Associates Degree An approved respiratory care program (required) Or
  • Bachelors Degree In a health related field within five (5) years of placement in position (required)


Licenses and Certifications
  • BLS - Basic Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire or transfer into position (required)
  • RCP - Respiratory Care Practitioner License - RCB - Respiratory Care Board of California (required)
  • RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist - NBRC - National Board for Respiratory Care (required)
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association PICU only within 12 months of hire or transfer into position (required)
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program - AHA - American Heart Association within six (6) months of hire or transfer into position (required)
  • Other - Other Maintains membership in appropriate professional organization(s). (required)


Work Experience
  • Minimum three (3) years Experience in Respiratory Care (required)
  • Minimum one (1) year Experience in Pediatric Respiratory Care (preferred)


Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrates the skills necessary to plan, implement and evaluate clinical education programs using appropriate educational principles.
