Position Description:

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an experienced Site Safety & Health Manager to shape and advance a world-class safety culture across a complex mining operation. This role partners with senior leadership to align strategy with execution, strengthen risk management, and deliver measurable improvements in safety performance.

This role is accountable for advancing a best-in-class Safety, Health & Training (HS&T) function by aligning site execution with enterprise strategy, strengthening operational discipline, and improving overall program effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead HS&T Strategy & Execution: Oversee all aspects of site safety, occupational health, and training, ensuring effective program delivery, regulatory compliance, and alignment with corporate standards and strategic priorities.
  • Build and Lead High-Performing Teams: Provide direct leadership to safety, industrial hygiene, workers' compensation, and emergency response functions, while fostering capability, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive Operational Excellence: Implement and enhance site-wide systems, including standardized training programs, SOPs, and data management processes to improve consistency, scalability, and performance.
  • Strengthen Risk Management: Monitor safety trends, conduct risk assessments, and lead the development of proactive controls and corrective actions to eliminate hazards and reduce exposure.
  • Partner with Leadership: Collaborate with site and senior leadership to shape HS&T objectives, influence decision-making, and ensure integration with business plans, operational procedures, and workforce strategy.
  • Ensure Compliance & Reporting: Maintain compliance with all regulatory and corporate requirements, while overseeing performance reporting and representing the organization with regulatory and external stakeholders. Serve as key liaison with MSHA, state and federal agencies.
  • Advance Continuous Improvement: Champion innovation by integrating new technologies, industry best practices, and corporate initiatives to enhance safety outcomes and program effectiveness.
  • Plan for the Future: Develop and manage annual and long-range HS&T strategies, goals, and budgets aligned with Barrick and Nevada Gold Mines' safety system.
  • Preform other duties as assigned.
