SUMMARY:
MPLX NG&NGL Operations West Region is seeking an Operations Engineer. The Operations Engineer will provide engineering support, project management, technical stewardship and oversight to gathering, processing, pipeline and compression assets.
This position will report to the Operations Engineering Manager and requires previous experience in the key areas of operations engineering, crude oil/natural gas/natural gas liquids gathering, processing, pipelines and compression/pump facilities. This position will be focused on providing operations engineering support and the development/execution of gathering, pipeline, and compression related projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develops and exercises process modeling capabilities for enhanced operations support.
• Identifies bad actors and develops mitigation plans.
• Coordinates and lead external consultant engagement for larger issue remediation.
• Increases forward looking project identification to ensure compliant operation through timely project development and funding.
• Quickly understands new facilities or systems with limited information (e.g. a set of P&ID's and an MEB).
• Trains less experienced engineers in theory of unit operations and development of standard facility drawings.
• Trains operators and other engineers in plant operation.
• Serves as SME in several unit operations such as compression, filtration, hydrates, separation, fractionation, etc.
• Leads site level initiatives to address operational, mechanical integrity, or PSM issues.
• Identifies best practices at site level and present findings to team members.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering required; mechanical or chemical preferred.
• Four (4) years or more of experience required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
