Full Job Description
Position Summary

The New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer is responsible for creating the required processes to produce customer designs. As the NPI Engineer you will navigate a product from quoting, through process development, and into production manufacturing. During this lifecycle, NPI Engineer will partner with sales, quality, engineering, and production teams to develop and test all necessary processes to create a repeatable high quality product for our end customer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for assigned product/process development through the development phases of the product life cycle
  • Collaborate with the customer and provide manufacturability feedback
  • Manage technical variables with a cross-functional team
  • Develop key process variables for machining and secondary operational processes
  • Develop process routing and BOM structures within the ERP system
  • Assist with the creation of control plan, PFMEA, qualification, and GR&R activities
  • Responsible for the first run manufacturing process and key process output variable success
  • Design, document, and improve developed processes, procedures, and work instructions
  • Create and execute engineering tests
  • Assist in the development of CNC toolpath design and CNC programming methodology
  • Design tools, fixtures, and part work-holding
  • Assist with all costing and quoting functions
  • All other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an associate degree with 5 years of experience in an applicable field
  • Experience with CAD software
  • Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment, especially Word and Excel
  • Experience working in regulator environments preferrable ISO 1348
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Strong cross-departmental knowledge and coordination skills
  • Proficient in multi-tasking between several development activities
  • Ability to travel between sites as needed


Desired Qualification:

  • Experience in the design and selection of fixture and tooling for complex parts
  • Experience in a precision machine shop environment - tight tolerances
  • Experience with passivation, cleaning, or painting processes
  • LEAN / Six Sigma training and demonstrated application
  • Experience with CAM software; swiss or milling


Compensation and Benefits Overview

Starting Pay Range for this position is $80,000-$100,000/Annually.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with applicable county or city regulations if they exceed the listed range. Actual pay rates are determined based on various factors, including but not limited to, local labor market conditions, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language proficiency, and other job-specific qualifications.
