Outpatient Advanced Practice Provider (Specialist)

Neurology

The Department of Neurology, Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine, UT Health San Antonio, is seeking a full-time faculty advanced practice provider (physician assistant or nurse practitioner) with excellent clinical skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of the neurology care team at the Center for Brain Health Neurology Clinic.

As an integral member of the neurology team, the advanced practice provider will provide specialty medical care and participate in clinical trials in collaboration with licensed physicians. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, obtaining history, performing physical assessments, distinguishing between normal and abnormal findings, and implementing an appropriate management plan in collaboration with physicians.

Educational requirements for Nurse Practitioners include a master's in nursing (Doctor of Nursing Practice is preferred) and certification. Physician Assistant candidates must have a bachelor's degree (master's degree is preferred) and completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program is required.

All candidates must have a current Texas license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant, applicable board certification, and DEA certification.
