Full Job Description
Within UT MD Anderson, the Interventional Radiology department is one of the largest in the nation, with more than 50 full-time technologists across the enterprise. The Neurovascular Radiology Technologist role operates in a highly innovative environment supporting advanced procedures such as endovascular interventions, thermal ablation, and neurovascular treatments. The Neurovascular Radiology Technologist works in a unique, cross-trained team structure where all technologists are equipped to use imaging and procedural equipment. The Neurovascular Radiology Technologist contributes to a collaborative, family-oriented culture supported by social committees and a Be Well certified environment.

The ideal candidate will have a combination of education and experience that supports advanced neurovascular imaging and procedures, including at least three years of experience as a registered Radiologic Technologist or one year of interventional radiology experience, with flexibility for candidates holding a preferred degree where experience requirements may be reduced or not required.

Shift / Hours: Monday - Friday / 11:30am - 8pm also On-Call Coverage

Responsibilities

Neurovascular & Interventional Procedure Support
• Follow established imaging protocols and clinical guidelines to support physician diagnosis and treatment
• Assist with neurovascular and endovascular diagnostic and interventional procedures including biopsies and catheterizations
• Support complex procedures such as flow diversion, carotid and intracranial stenting, and embolization
• Assist with interventions for cerebral aneurysms, vascular malformations, stenosis, and cerebrospinal fluid leak embolization
• Support ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke interventions with precision and adherence to standards

Imaging & Post-Processing
• Perform post-processing and advanced 3D image reconstruction tailored to patient-specific conditions
• Collaborate with physicians using reconstructed images to determine appropriate sizing and selection of implantable devices such as stents and coils

Inventory & Equipment Management
• Maintain thorough knowledge of neuro-specific inventory including consumable supplies, catheters, and implantable devices
• Ensure readiness and proper utilization of imaging and ancillary equipment across procedures

Clinical Procedure Support
• Circulate and scrub during procedures to assist physicians in a sterile environment
• Provide continuous intra-procedural support ensuring patient safety and procedural efficiency

On-Call & Additional Duties
• Participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation to support urgent and emergent cases
• Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational needs

EDUCATION
  • Required: Graduation from an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of Radiology Technology.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree Diagnostic Imaging with Computer Tomography with a specialization in Computed Tomography & Vascular Interventional.

WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Required: 3 years As a registered Radiologic Technologist. or
  • Required: 1 year Interventional radiology experience. or
  • Required: With preferred degree, no experience required.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Required: ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Upon Hire and
  • Required: CMRT - Cert Medical Radiologic Tech Licensed by the Texas Medical Board (TMB). Upon Hire and
  • Required: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Upon Hire or
  • Required: BLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire
  • Preferred: RT(VI) - Vascular-Interventional Rad Credential from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Upon Hire and
  • Preferred: ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire
