Location: 9300 DeWitt Loop, Fort Belvoir, VA 22060
Position Overview: - The Network Engineer III designs, tests, upgrades, and integrates complex LAN, WLAN, WAN, and VoIP networks in support of ATAMMC operations.
- This role operates with significant autonomy and co-leads Network Operations.
- Contract Support Hours: Monday-Friday, 0600-1800.
Job Duties: - Design, test, upgrade, and integrate complex information networks, including LAN, WLAN, WAN, and VoIP, to meet business requirements.
- Document all phases of the engineering process, from build and configuration to testing and deployment.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures, perform network modeling, and analyze future needs.
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting assistance to network engineers and manage vendor engagements for complex issues.
- Evaluate emerging network technologies and provide recommendations for product selection.
- Operate with significant autonomy to develop methodologies and present solutions to complex problems.
- Coordinate all network changes with administrators and stakeholders.
- Assist as a co-lead for Network Operations, providing supervision and guidance to network resources.
- Install, relocate, configure, test, patch, and upgrade all network devices.
- Manage VLANs, network accounts, password management, and configuration management.
- Operate and maintain all VoIP components in strict compliance with DoD instructions and DISA STIGs.
- Participate in On-Call/Call-Back rotation for Engineering Services.
Required Qualifications: - 6+ Years of progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency in network engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field, and/or equivalent years of experience.
- Experience designing and implementing enterprise LAN, WLAN, WAN, and VoIP networks.
- Experience with VLAN management, network security, and DISA STIG compliance.
- Experience co-leading or supervising network engineering staff.
- Experience evaluating emerging network technologies and making product selection recommendations. .
Required to Start: - Certification Requirements: a Current IAT III Certification is required to Start.
- Clearance Requirements: Must have or be able obtain a Secret Clearance which is required to Start. All personnel must obtain favorable suitability adjudication prior to commencement of duties.
