Class Concept
We're looking for a hands-on Network Engineer who wants to own real infrastructure that matters-not just design it on paper. In this role, you'll lead day-to-day operations of a complex, mission-critical environment supporting public safety, 911 systems, and enterprise services across the City of Dublin. You'll be the one people count on when things break-diagnosing tough issues, driving root-cause resolution, and continuously modernizing the network to improve reliability and resilience. This is not a back-office, ticket-only role-it's for someone who thrives in production environments, is confident about troubleshooting under pressure, and takes pride in keeping critical systems running. If you're an experienced operator who wants meaningful ownership, visible impact, and the ability to shape infrastructure that directly serves a community, we want to talk.

The City of Dublin is seeking an experienced, hands-on Network Engineer to support and evolve a highly reliable, mission-critical technology environment serving City operations, public safety systems, and community services.

This role is responsible for maintaining a citywide network infrastructure that supports enterprise systems, modern cloud-integrated services, mobile workforce, and a regional 911 dispatch center. The ideal candidate is a seasoned technologist and problem-solver who thrives in complex environments.

The position works closely with the Network Operations Manager to support daily operations, align work with strategic priorities, and plan for future infrastructure needs. The Network Engineer collaborates with IT staff, the Information Security Administrator, vendors, and business units to deliver scalable, resilient, and secure solutions that support City operations, public safety systems, and critical services.

Implement and maintain network and email security controls, including firewalls, VPNs, endpoint protections, and authentication systems.

Support security initiatives such as email security (DKIM, DMARC, SPF), identity and access control systems, vulnerability remediation and system hardening. Collaborate on incident response and the mitigation of security events, and ensure alignment with City security policies and best practices.
