Job SummaryResponsible for Operations Network Support including script development, device configuration management, system administration, hardware support, software support, maintenance, security, and troubleshooting. Responsible for solution design, development, integration, and enhancements to meet business needs and project requirements. Also responsible for documenting and developing operational procedures and providing end-user support.
Key Responsibilities- Ensures monitoring of network engineering performance and system availability and reliability.
- Leads all configurations and installations of various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).
- Performs highly complex network maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
- Monitors performance and ensures system availability and reliability.
- Monitors system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
- Assists in the development and implementation of security policies and procedures.
- Initiates, facilitates, and promotes activities to create information security awareness within the organization.
- Performs information security risk assessments and serves as an internal expert for information security-related issues.
- Provides Level 3 support and troubleshooting to resolve highly complex issues.
- Works within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
- Selects and implements security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company's security team using wide latitude for independent judgment.
- Acts as the primary liaison with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Computer Systems, Management Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited university OR relevant experience in system management for network engineering.
- Demonstrated Associate-level experience with Network Engineering.
- Experience with networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS).
- Solid knowledge of OSI or TCP/IP models.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools.
- Experience with cloud environments.
- Proven experience with Cisco ACI or Cisco Nexus Data Center technologies.
- Knowledge of key concepts in security management (vulnerability management, patch management, incident response).
- Skill in assessing security controls based on cybersecurity principles and frameworks.
- Experience as a Network Administrator supporting critical systems and providing technical solutions.
- Relevant experience in supporting utility construction and maintenance.

- Professional-level networking certification (CCNP, CCDP, F5-CTS, VMware VCP, VMware VCAP).
