Job Summary
The Network Consultant will serve as a senior technical lead for large-scale enterprise infrastructure, data center deployments, migrations, refresh initiatives, and network modernization projects. The role combines strong hands-on networking expertise with infrastructure program leadership, stakeholder management, planning, documentation, and communication skills. The consultant will coordinate cross-functional teams across networking, cloud, security, storage, and infrastructure operations while supporting complex enterprise environments and driving initiatives from planning through execution. This is a hybrid role based in Frisco, TX, requiring onsite work two days per week.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead enterprise infrastructure projects from initiation through successful completion.
• Drive data center migration, refresh, consolidation, and modernization efforts.
• Coordinate networking, security, cloud, storage, server, and infrastructure teams to deliver enterprise initiatives.
• Design, implement, and support large-scale data center networking solutions.
• Support and troubleshoot complex routing, switching, and network security environments.
• Manage project timelines, implementation plans, change management activities, budgets, and technical documentation.
• Develop infrastructure roadmaps, migration strategies, and deployment plans.
• Support network monitoring, performance optimization, and root cause analysis activities.
• Partner with vendors, business stakeholders, and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Create detailed architecture diagrams, implementation procedures, and operational documentation.
• Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and technical considerations to stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership across infrastructure modernization and network engineering initiatives.
Required Qualifications
• Strong enterprise-level infrastructure and networking experience.
• Hands-on experience with Arista and Juniper networking technologies.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise networking, routing, and switching.
• Strong experience with BGP and OSPF.
• Hands-on experience with data center networking, including EVPN/VXLAN and spine-leaf architectures.
• Experience with Cisco Nexus, MPLS, VLANs, QoS, ACLs, DNS/DHCP, IPv4, and IPv6.
• Experience with SDN and SD-WAN technologies.
• Experience supporting enterprise data center operations, migrations, refreshes, and infrastructure modernization.
• Experience with storage, compute, virtualization, structured cabling, and facilities-related infrastructure.
• Strong network security experience, including Palo Alto, Fortinet, and/or Check Point.
• Knowledge of IDS/IPS, SIEM, device hardening, vulnerability management, and VPN technologies.
• Experience with network monitoring and performance tools such as SolarWinds, NetFlow, Infoblox, and Wireshark.
• Strong Technical Program Management or PMO experience, including project documentation, stakeholder communication, implementation planning, budgets, and governance.
• Experience managing project timelines, change management, implementation activities, and cross-functional technical teams.
• Strong infrastructure project leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with infrastructure architecture and enterprise network architecture.
• Experience with cloud networking across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Experience with enterprise security architecture.
• Experience in Financial Services, Healthcare, Telecom, or other large enterprise environments.
• Experience leading multi-million-dollar infrastructure initiatives.
• Experience working as a Network Architect, Infrastructure Architect, Lead Network Engineer, Senior Network Engineer, Infrastructure Program Manager, Technical Program Manager, Principal Network Engineer, Data Center Architect, or Network Consultant.
• Experience with large-scale network modernization and data center transformation programs.
