POSTING DETAILS:What We're Looking ForTrillium Health Resources has a career opening for an NC ROOTS Hub Lead Executive Director to join our team! The NC ROOTS Hub Lead Executive Director is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational execution, and regional impact of the NC ROOTS Hub. This individual will lead a multi-sector, multi-county transformation effort focused on improving rural health outcomes through coordinated investments in perinatal health, chronic disease management, workforce development, and "Food is Medicine" initiatives. The Executive Director operates as the regional convener, systems integrator, and accountable leader responsible for aligning healthcare systems, community-based organizations (CBOs), public health, and other stakeholders to achieve measurable outcomes.
*Recruitment for this position is being conducted in anticipation of program funding approval. The position is contingent upon receipt and continuation of funding through the NC Roots effective June 1, 2026. The organization reserves the right to delay hiring, modify, or withdraw the position based on funding status.
On a typical day, you might:- Serve as the primary leader and public face of the NC ROOTS Hub across any regions awarded to Trillium.
- Oversee implementation of required initiatives, including perinatal health (including CHW/Doula coordination models), chronic disease prevention and management, and Food is Medicine programs.
- Design and operationalize a sub-awardee model for hospitals, providers, and CBOs.
- Oversee multi-million-dollar regional budgets and funding allocations.
- Build trust across diverse stakeholders, including historically underserved communities.
- Build and lead a high-performing regional team, including operations, Community engagement, program implementation, and data and analytics.

QualificationsRequired:
- Bachelor's degree and six (6) years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare, public health, Medicaid, or large-scale community initiatives, including experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives and/or overseeing large budgets and grant-funded programs. Must include minimum two (2) years of supervisory experience; OR
- Master's degree and three (3) years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare, public health, Medicaid, or large-scale community initiatives, including experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives and/or overseeing large budgets and grant-funded programs. Must include minimum two (2) years of supervisory experience.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must reside within North Carolina.
- Must be able to travel within catchment as required.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with North Carolina healthcare systems and regional dynamics.
- Experience serving in a hub, convener, or backbone organization role.
- Familiarity with federal grant compliance (e.g., Uniform Guidance / 2 CFR 200).
- Experience working with CBO networks and health equity initiatives.
