OverviewThis position is for an engineer to work as part of a team performing model based systems engineering. The focus of the MBSE task is modeling of the system, tying the design into the requirements, and helping establish a robust digital engineering environment. This position is located on-site at our Fredericksburg, VA office with weekly required presence at NSWC Dahlgren.
Clearance
An Interim Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.
Requirements
- A B.S. in a STEM discipline and an interim secret clearance are minimum criteria for consideration
- Position requires going on base, possibly weekly, with limited opportunities for telework
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a team to develop models of a tactical Navy weapons system, primarily using Cameo
- Actively participate in meetings, some of which will be classified
- Follow established work processes to incorporate updated models
- Perform research and analysis on complex issues (example: Developing MBPLE for a complex set of variants in a system)
- Conduct independent research on emerging tools, applications, and plug-ins for to support the expansion of our digital engineering solution
- Provide well written and easily comprehensible instructions to peers on how to perform tasks
- Develop and maintain SYSML based diagrams
- Operate in a Team Work Cloud (TWC) environment
- Communicate actively with stakeholders
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Proficient with Cameo or MagicDraw
- Concrete analytical skills
- Demonstrated experience researching solutions to complex problems
- Proficiency with Java or Python
- Proficiency in SYSML
- Familiarity with UAF
EducationBS in a STEM discipline is required
Compensation
Compensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements.
The projected annual compensation range for this position is $72,000 - $140,000 (USD) depending on experience and expertise level. This estimate reflects the standard salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
