Full Job Description
The National Sales Director will lead and is responsible for developing sales strategies for their assigned account that drive profitable sales for Bonnie Plants, while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and delighting our consumers.

The National Sales Director will manage the relationships with national and/ or senior merchants to align on growth strategies that the National Sales Director will then manage with Operations and Sales team support.

To be successful, this person must be able to take a multi-year view of account planning and management that unlocks strategic customer partnerships and drives business growth by leveraging a general management view of the business that unlocks growth through new product/ channel introductions, marketing initiatives, and operational synergies.

The National Sales Director reports to Vice-President of Sales & Marketing.
Responsibilities:
• Achieve an annual top line sales and profitability plan for assigned account(s).
• Develop omni-channel sales driving strategies and initiatives for assigned account(s) froma category management perspective by leveraging account(s) insight and consumerinsights
• Develop and maintain current relationships with merchants and key influencers acrossfunctional departments within the account(s) organization with focus on national and/ orsenior merchants
• Communicate proactively and reactively in a timely fashion to be the "go-to" resourcethroughout the Bonnie organization for information on account(s) initiatives. Serve as thevoice of the customer.
• Lead the planning, creation, and delivery of national comprehensive product line reviewsand all national presentations for assigned account(s) and manage retail operationalplanning
• Act as a liaison between Bonnie and assigned account(s) and take a leadership position oncollaborative teams, to include but not limited to, Sales, Operations, Marketing, Finance,Store Service, Information Technology and Product Development.
• Develop and update annual sales forecasts for assigned account(s) on a monthly basis.
• Understand strategy and tactics of key competitors in assigned account(s) and proactivelycommunicate internally as needed.
• Create and/ or understand financial metrics of proposed or initiated programs.
• Account sales and KPI performance tracking to understand business health from both anaccount and Bonnie perspective, with recommendations to amplify or correct outlyingactivities
• Report back on program or product initiatives with recommendations based on learned insights and ROI analysis
• Coordinate the activities of an independent, representative agency (if needed).

Required Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Business or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of business experience with 5 years of national account management experience is required; previous experience in live goods preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Effective and timely verbal and non-verbal communication a must
• Expert level proficiency with Excel and Power-Point.
• Ability to analyze market conditions and competition as well as develop strategic responses to opportunities.
• Possess a strong understanding of marketing, operations and finance with a mid- level understanding of how the three work in coordination.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment is essential.
• Must be able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to negotiate win/win solutions in line review situations and day to day negotiations with the assigned account(s).
• Ability to "sit-in" for the respective VP if needed in the presence of senior leadership.
• Must be flexible and willing to travel to maximize business opportunities as they arise.
• Aptitude to fit and affect change within a multi-dimensional culture

Work Environment
The job is performed indoors in a traditional office setting with occasional work in a home center type environment. Activities include extended periods of sitting and extensive work at a computer monitor.

Travel
30-40% Travel. Higher travel is expected during the spring season. A valid driver's license is required.
