Full Job Description
As the National Accounts - Manager of Quotations at Crescent Electric, you will drive the standardization and optimization of processes that drive the National Quotations team and will adhere to the metrics that have been developed to measure these outcomes in relation to our organizational goals. In this managerial role, you will remove barriers, escalate issues, and provide resources needed to build and empower an effective team. Additionally, you will ensure the team meets critical milestones, divisional commitments, and meet financial goals and timelines.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Direct reports include Quotations and Project Specialists.
  • Responsible for the quotations team to meet and or exceed the goals and objectives as outlined in current business plan/budget.
  • Interact with electrical contractors, architects, engineers, and owners to suggest products to be used on all types of national accounts projects.
  • Continually train, educate, and update the quotations team's knowledge and talent to be the leaders in the latest innovations and codes.
  • Coach team for proper engagement and engage yourself with key national account stakeholders to influence specifications, strengthen partnerships, and position preferred solutions early in the project lifecycle.
  • Collect and evaluate quotations data to discover patterns of success or failure. Measure by product type, manufacturer, bid amounts, and customers.
  • Drive gross margin improvement through strategic supplier negotiations, pricing discipline, and value-added solution selling.
  • Track and improve quotation-to-award conversion rates through data-driven decision making and continuous process improvements.
  • Help develop cross vertical quotations support (and backup's) with all quotations/project specialists on the National Accounts team.
  • Work to strengthen and build the relationship with key suppliers. Be able to negotiate key project deals that add additional margin.
  • Work with the Pricing Analysis to develop consistent pricing.
  • Work with Supply Chain to promote our Value-Add Services, such as DTS, Kitting, etc.
  • Support and act as a resource for utilizing tools, such as eCommerce, digital marketing, StockNow, and digital selling.
  • Champion digital transformation initiatives, leveraging quoting tools, automation, and analytics to increase efficiency and scalability. Ex: (Parspec, Job management, SFDC)
  • Develop and lead national bid strategy for key accounts, including competitive positioning, value engineering, and win-rate optimization.
  • Develop a high-performing quotations team through structured coaching, succession planning, and skills development aligned to future business needs.
  • Partner with sales management to translate quotation activity into accurate revenue forecasts and pipeline visibility.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage direct reporting personnel and redefine the team, as needed.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities may include assisting with hiring, interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Outline roles and responsibilities, drive effective and efficient onboarding, and provide coaching and mentoring on an ongoing basis.
  • Recommend merit wage increases within the established company wage structure and policy.


SKILLS:
  • Individual must possess strong, comprehensive PC skills (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook products). Must have ability to work quickly and accurately under time constraints and against deadlines. In addition, must possess interpersonal and organizational skills, be a self-starter, be detail oriented, and have the ability to communicate (verbal and written).
  • Strong team player who operates with high levels of integrity, trust and respect for the individual. Must take an authentic approach to collaboration leading to a collective success across the broader end-to-end organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of all facets of a distributorship.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; 10+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel 10% of the time, with overnight stays.
  • Experience in training and developing employees.
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution.
