Grades: 9-10(MYP) and 11-12(DP)
Start Date: September 1,2026-June 30,2027(including orientation at the end of August)
Salary Range: $57,503.24-$103,534.50(salary will be determined based on education and experience)
The successful candidate will be required to:
• Develop and deliver International Baccalaureate (IB) units incorporating the BC Curriculum
• Fully participate in our programs and culture of our school community
• Support and monitor student academics, personal growth and development
• Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs
• Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs
• Keep up to date with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities
• Assign, assess and evaluate class work, homework, tests and assignments on a regular basis
• Maintain accurate and complete records of students' attendance, progress and development
• Supervise Extended Essay and/or Personal Project
• Embrace inquiry in teaching and learning
• Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by IB and Ministry guidelines and school policies and regulations
• Manage student behaviour in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
• Participate in Faculty meetings, parent-teacher meetings and other meetings as required
• Participate in CAS/extra-curricular activities/tutorial duty
• Provide support to class coverage, lunch supervision
Qualifications and Experience:
• Must be a current BC teacher with valid certificate (must provide proof) or in the process of obtaining one with an expected completion date before September 2026
• A Bachelor of Education/undergraduate degree or equivalent
• Experience and familiarity with the BC Curriculum and IB teaching experience
• Minimum of 2 years' experience teaching ELL students and international teaching experience
• Boarding school experience an asset
• A strong understanding of the unique needs of boarding students and a boarding school environment
• First Aid Level 1 or higher
