Lockheed Martin's Palmdale Fabrication, Assembly, and Tooling Department is seeking a Multifunctional Production Manager.

The Multifunctional Production Manager is responsible for:
  • Leading multiple manufacturing functions and their associated leadership teams to execute production requirements safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Providing strategic and day-to-day leadership to manufacturing supervisors and associate managers while developing a highly engaged, accountable, and continuously improving workforce.
  • Establishing operating priorities, allocating resources, forecasting manpower, managing production capacity, and driving execution against program commitments.
  • Partnering closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Production Control, and other functional organizations to resolve technical and operational constraints and ensure successful execution of production plans.
  • Using production data, business metrics, and Lean Manufacturing principles to identify performance gaps, eliminate constraints, improve flow, reduce cost, and enhance schedule performance.
  • Leading organizational change and developing standardized operating processes that improve predictability and sustain results.
  • Building strong relationships across functions and levels of the organization, and communicating priorities clearly.
  • Developing subordinate leaders and establishing a culture of ownership, accountability, employee development, and continuous improvement.
    Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience leading through supervisors, managers, and multiple layers of leadership.
  • Experience owning and improving Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People performance across a complex organization.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing manufacturing strategies aligned with business, program, and customer objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish operating priorities, allocate resources, and make trade-off decisions across competing business needs.
  • Experience managing production performance through metrics, operating reviews, escalation processes, and corrective-action plans.


Desired Skills

  • Minimum 10 years of manufacturing production, operations, or related experience.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a complex, fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities and significant business impact.
  • Aerospace Composite fabrication experience
  • Experience managing multiple manufacturing technologies and production disciplines
  • Demonstrated experience leading a represented/union workforce
  • Experience with SFM or comparable manufacturing execution systems.


Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $123400.00 - $229200.00

The salary range for this position is as listed on the requisition. Please note that the salary information listed is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market(work location) and business considerations when extending an offer.

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
