Full Job Description

The Multifamily Housing Finance Group represents lenders active in the multifamily housing industry with a focus on closing loans secured by multifamily projects and delivering those loans to secondary market investors. The Multifamily Paralegal will work with the Multifamily Housing Finance group and will be responsible for the review and analysis of title and survey on multifamily housing properties demonstrating a thorough knowledge of title and survey. There is a billable hours component to this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct title and survey review and analysis, specifically for commercial real estate loans, including but not limited to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

  • Maintain thorough and current knowledge of commercial real estate lending guidelines.

  • Perform paralegal duties and responsibilities as directed by the group leader and other attorneys.

  • Monitor and meet loan closing deadlines.

  • Perform all assignments in strict compliance with ethical guidelines governing the practice of law.

  • Maintain the firm’s official files utilizing the document management system.

  • Track and record client-billable time as required meeting minimum billable hour requirements.

  • Maintain and prioritize work daily and communicate if unable to meet daily responsibilities.

  • Daily tracking and recording of both billable and nonbillable work.

Education and/or Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree; or any combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience with commercial real estate transactions, specifically title and survey, law firm, or title company.

  • Commercial title and survey experience, specifically ALTA and NSPS.

  • Fannie Mae and/or Freddie Mac experience strongly preferred.
