FLSA Status: This position is exempt from overtime pay and is expected to fulfill job responsibilities as needed to meet organizational goals.
Terms of Appointment: 12 months (240 Days)
Annual Compensation: $81,044.00-$106.802.00 (Salary Schedule CS)
Job Summary:Under the general direction of the Chief Academic Officer or designee, the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Coordinator will be responsible for planning, organizing, and developing districtwide multi-tiered systems of support, including the development of the following domains: Family & Student Engagement, Attendance & Intervention Monitoring, Academic Supports, Behavior Supports and Basic Needs. In coordination with the MTSS District Team, the MTSS Education Specialist will support building site teams on matters related to the intervention through MTSS. The MTSS Coordinator will offer expertise to staff regarding tiered systems of support, intervention Plans, and matters related to supporting all students to work towards mastery of state standards and curriculum.
Duties and Responsibilities: - In conjunction with the District MTSS Team, plans, organizes, and develops, districtwide multi-tiered systems of support. Including working collaboratively across departments to create a districtwide strategic plan for MTSS in Tiers I, II, and III under all domains
- Facilitates phased and leveled stages of implementation; providing ongoing MTSS implementation guidance and support to site MTSS teams; coordinating ongoing check-ins between departments to ensure system alignment.
- Facilitates professional development to school staff, and administrators.
- Coaches and supports school based MTSS teams in their design and implementation of system data based shifts related to student needs.
- Coaches and provides on-going guidance for MTSS facilitator with the delivery of the MTSS
- Convenes regularly with MTSS facilitators to monitor student progress and support continued follow through ofMTSS
- Develops protocols for intervention referral process
- Keeps up to date on laws and regulations regarding MTSS and supports intervention teams with training, process, and alignment with legal guidelines for practice.
- Coordinates and monitors MTSS-related grant and partnership requirements.
- Collaborates and consults with district Coordinators and Specialists to implement MTSS, as needed.
- Communicates effectively with students, staff, and community.
- Demonstrates sensitivity to teachers' individual differences and cultural backgrounds.
- Convene monthly MTSS facilitator meetings to enter data and troubleshoot issues.
- Coordinate site-based MTSS and academic initiatives
- Allocates time and resources effectively.
- Maintains confidentiality.
- Works district-wide in assigned schools. Must provide their own transportation.
- Performs other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator.
Minimum Qualifications: - Alabama Teacher's Certification, master's degree or higher with an endorsement in administration/leadership.
- Content expert with the varied components of MTSS.
- Minimum of five years of experience as a teacher or counselor and two years experience in school leadership or supervisory role experience and training with effective academic and behavioral interventions to support school improvement.
