Job Description

MSAT Value Stream Engineer III

Location: Grand Island, NY- relocation assistance not provided.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with flexibility. This role also participates in 24hr on-call support as business needs require.

What You’ll Do

As part of our Manufacturing Sciences and Technology (MSAT) organization, you will provide engineering expertise and technical leadership for cell culture media manufacturing.

You’ll partner closely with Production, Quality, R&D, and other technical teams to optimize existing manufacturing processes, support new product introductions, troubleshoot production challenges, and identify opportunities to strengthen our operations.

Your work will include:

  • Providing engineering support and technical leadership for cell culture media manufacturing.

  • Leading and supporting continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, cost, and operational efficiency.

  • Partnering directly with Production to identify workflow barriers, improve throughput, and strengthen manufacturing performance.

  • Providing 24-hour real-time technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing issues, including identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.

  • Leading or supporting deviation investigations, change controls, CAPAs, risk assessments, and root cause analyses.

  • Developing, optimizing, and validating manufacturing processes.

  • Supporting new product introductions and the implementation of new manufacturing technologies and automation solutions.

  • Identifying and implementing process improvements and cost-reduction opportunities.

  • Helping minimize production disruptions and improve the reliability and consistency of manufacturing operations.

  • Supporting additional business and manufacturing priorities as needed.

What You’ll Bring

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, or another related scientific or engineering discipline.

  • 4+ years of experience in process engineering, product development, MSAT, or a related manufacturing/technical function.

  • Strong understanding of GMP, ISO standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Experience with process validation and change control.

  • Demonstrated analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Experience with root cause analysis and risk assessment methodologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead or support process improvement initiatives.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and cross-functional communication skills.

  • Ability to work in cleanroom environments when required.

  • Experience supporting or providing technical guidance to engineers and technicians.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Hands-on or technical experience with the formulation and manufacturing of cell culture media, supplements, or reagents.

  • Knowledge of aqueous chemistry and the biochemical, organic compounds, and metal salts used in cell culture media.

  • Experience with powder manufacturing processes.

  • Experience implementing cost-reduction, productivity, or manufacturing efficiency initiatives.

  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and tools.

  • Lean Six Sigma certification.

Additional Requirements

  • Work Authorization: This position does not offer employment-based visa sponsorship. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

  • Relocation: Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Candidates should currently reside within a commutable distance of Grand Island, NY, or be willing to relocate at their own expense.

  • Pre-Employment Requirements: Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and drug screening, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in New York is $85,000.00–$110,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
