MRI Technologist

$39.16 - $58.74 an hour - Full-Time Days, 36 hours per week
+$2.50/hr for weekend shifts.

Qualifications
• Registered Technologist (ARRT) for Radiology Technology
• Completion of MRI training (structured or on the job)
• BLS by end of conditional period.
• Active Registered Technologist (ARRT) for MRI, or MRI registered within:
otwo years from hire/transfer date for trainee, or
o18 months from hire/transfer date for registry eligible staff
Responsibilities
• Prepare, position, and safely transfer patients for MRI procedures, ensuring proper alignment and comfort in accordance with imaging protocols.
• Operate MRI scanners and perform diagnostic imaging procedures, selecting appropriate technical parameters to produce high-quality images.
• Process, review, and archive MRI images; ensure scans are properly labeled and presented for radiologist interpretation.
• Administer contrast agents intravenously, adhering to safety protocols and monitoring for adverse reactions.
• Coordinate and schedule patient appointments for MRI exams, ensuring efficient workflow and minimal delays.
• Provide on-call MRI technologist support as scheduled, responding to emergency and after-hours imaging needs.
• Participate in quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) programs, contributing to continuous improvement and regulatory compliance
• Perform daily equipment checks and routine maintenance on MRI machines to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Complete administrative and clerical tasks, including documentation, patient records management, and data entry.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe MRI suite, complying with infection control and workplace safety standards.
• Screen patients and personnel for contraindications, such as metallic implants or foreign bodies, following MRI safety guidelines.
