Full Job Description
Akicita Federal is hiring MRI Technologists to deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging services for Veterans receiving care through the VA New Jersey Health Care System in Toms River, NJ. In this role, you will be a critical part of a multidisciplinary care team, ensuring Veterans receive accurate and timely MRI imaging that directly supports their diagnosis and treatment. We are filling two positions, and candidates can expect a stable, mission-driven work environment serving those who served our country.

- Perform MRI examinations on Veterans patients in accordance with established clinical protocols and physician orders

- Prepare and position patients for MRI procedures, explaining the process to ensure comfort, safety, and cooperation throughout the scan

- Operate MRI equipment to produce diagnostic-quality images, adjusting technical parameters as needed to optimize image quality

- Screen patients and staff for MRI safety contraindications, maintaining a safe magnetic environment at all times

- Document all imaging procedures accurately in the electronic health record, including patient history, scan parameters, and any relevant clinical observations

- Coordinate with radiologists and referring providers to communicate imaging findings, flag urgent results, and support continuity of care

- Maintain equipment readiness by performing routine quality control checks and reporting technical issues promptly

$104,000 - $114,400 a year

- Current, full, and unrestricted licensure or certification as a Radiologic Technologist with MRI specialty certification (ARRT MRI or equivalent)

- Demonstrated experience performing MRI imaging in a clinical or hospital setting

- Proficiency in patient positioning, MRI safety screening, and producing diagnostic-quality images across standard MRI sequences

- Ability to operate MRI imaging equipment and associated software used in diagnostic radiology workflows

- Strong documentation skills and familiarity with electronic health record systems

- Ability to pass a government background investigation and meet VA credentialing and privileging requirements prior to start

- Prior experience working within a VA Medical Center or federal healthcare environment

- Familiarity with VA electronic health record systems such as VistA or Oracle Health (formerly Cerner)

- Experience across a broad range of MRI applications including musculoskeletal, neurological, abdominal, and cardiac imaging
