Full Job Description
Main Tasks

  • Leads the location logistics, materials, purchasing and production planning initiatives
  • Assures adherence of safety specifications and processes in the logistics areas that use powered industrial trucks and manual material handing equipment
  • Oversight of Logistics/TMS support- handles carrier related concerns
  • Leads and supports of material handling improvements
  • Uses Lean manufacturing methodologies in the value stream to drive continuous improvement
  • Works with Sales, Inventory, Operations, Planning led to drive inventory reduction projects
  • Ensures level loading of the production planning processes for inventory optimization
  • Supports development and maintenance of PFEP, replenishment, and flow of material strategies into standardized processes
  • Measures and owns Logistic Key Performance Indicators such as inventory turns, material variance, on-time fill rate
  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of workers
  • Interviews, hires, trains and develops new employees
  • Partners with Manufacturing to ensure coordination of other functions such as production planning, raw and finished goods inventory management and effective change overs
  • Leads the communication collaboratively within the site support functions and sales team
  • Conducts annual performance reviews and provides continual feedback on both positive and constructive performance
  • Ensures teams have processes in place to control non-conformance materials to initiate corrective actions, ensure that the commodities are inspected for conformity with other specifications and checked for defects
  • Ensures all activities regarding the transport logistics and/or production logistics and/or logistics planning are performed in time and budget
  • Ensures the project stages are adequately managed and deadlines are met, ensure that the customer and supplier conditions and requirements are considered
  • Manages supervisors and underlying employees of the material planning, receiving, inventory management, and shipping departments of the local site to the performance measures and engage in the hiring process of these departments
  • Oversees warehouse set for expectation and remains inventory
  • Additional duties as assigned


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree Required
  • 5 years manufacturing and distribution management and logistics management experience required
  • Strong communication skills at all levels of the organization
  • Customer service management skills, and supplier orientation organization and coordination skills
  • Lean Manufacturing experience desired
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems, SAP or other preferred
  • Customer and supplier orientation, organization and coordination skills
  • Self-initiative and ability to work under pressure
  • Interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills necessary to work in a cooperative, positive team approach
  • Ability to lead, train and mentor employees on a personal & professional level
  • Experience or knowledge of raw materials planning/production scheduling process
  • OSHA 10 Knowledge
  • Occasional travel for corporate alignment and training may be required
