Job Description:Parsons is looking for a talented
MOT Principal Engineer to join our team full-time to support one of the many large transformative transportation projects that we have either won, are currently pursuing, or will pursue across the nation.
Some of the larger projects are located in the states of:
• Tennessee
• Georgia
• North Carolina
• Virginia
• Indiana
In this role, you will help deliver the design for projects that have a construction value greater than $1 billion, and in turn assist in enhancing the mobility, safety, and reliability for communities who live along and travel through these critical corridors.
This position is remote, and the selected candidate will have flexibility in work location while still supporting virtual collaboration with Parsons teams.What You'll Be Doing- Serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert for Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) on large, multi-disciplinary transportation programs
- Develop project-wide MOT strategies, policies, and design criteria for major corridors and interchanges
- Lead and oversee MOT design teams across multiple offices, ensuring consistency, quality, and innovation in temporary traffic control solutions
- Lead risk assessments and mitigation strategies related to work zone traffic operations and safety
- Support pursuit teams by developing winning MOT strategies, approaches, and differentiators for design-build and P3 proposals
- Serve as a key interface with senior client representatives, contractors, and stakeholders on complex MOT issues and negotiations
- Provide high-level technical review and approval of MOT deliverables and ensure adherence to company and client quality standards
- Mentor and develop future MOT leaders, including succession planning and capability building across the organization
What Required Skills You'll Bring- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- 10 to 12 years of extensive experience in Maintenance of Traffic planning and design for major highway and bridge projects
- Recognized expertise in MUTCD and multiple state DOT MOT standards and policies
- Demonstrated experience leading MOT on mega-projects or programs with complex staging and traffic management needs
- Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
What Desired Skills You'll Bring- Experience as MOT lead or discipline manager on design-build/P3 projects exceeding $1B in construction value
- Experience participating in industry committees or working groups related to work zone safety and traffic control
- Proven track record of developing innovative work zone solutions that improve safety and mobility
- Experience in program-level management of distributed MOT teams and resources

Salary Range: $103,500.00 - $181,100.00
