Qualifications

• Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate endorsed in science; other endorsements considered if no qualified candidates are available.
• English Language Learner endorsement preferred.
• Knowledge of current trends in curriculum, instruction, and technology.
• Ability to plan instructional programs for diverse learners.
• Knowledge/experience with state assessment requirements preferred.
• Knowledge/experience with federal and state special education regulations preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Capability to safely lift/move equipment and supplies during class.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate effectively with administrators, staff, students, and parents.
• Engage as a member of a multidisciplinary team and foster positive inter-staff communication.
• Demonstrate effective planning and maintain an organized classroom for learning.
• Focus students' attention on lessons while clearly stating objectives and adapting instruction as needed.
• Monitor and report on student learning and use data to inform instructional decisions.
• Set and communicate clear expectations for student conduct in class.
• Show enthusiasm while guiding and assisting students during instruction.
• Provide individual and group services to support student performance and conduct.
• Pursue continued learning interests in academics and technology.
