This opportunity resides with Warfare Systems (WS), a business group within HII's Mission Technologies division. Warfare Systems comprises cyber and mission IT; electronic warfare; and C5ISR systems.

Job Description

HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a Modernization Data Analyst to support the Department of War (DoW) Chief Information Officer (CIO). Come Join our growing team today!

We are seeking a skilled Modernization Data Analyst to support DoW CIO through their IT Modernization effort. This IT transformation is foundational to building a more lethal and ready Joint Force capable of operating in contested environments, which is essential for facing and deterring current and future threats. This position requires a SECRET level security clearance and will work onsite in Arlington, VA.

Salary for this position will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and skill set, while also considering internal equity and market competitiveness.

LEVEL 2 - $73,025 - $104,321

LEVEL 3 - $94,520 - $135,028

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze large, complex datasets from multiple legacy and modernized systems to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, system architects, and cybersecurity teams to ensure data integrity and accessibility across modernization efforts.
  • Translate technical data findings into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support data integration activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Department of War (DoW) data governance standards.
  • Contribute to the development of data quality metrics and automated validation processes.


Minimum Qualifications

  • LEVEL 2 - 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field.
  • LEVEL 3 - 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Familiarity with DoW data security and compliance requirements (e.g., FISMA, NIST standards) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings in a clear, concise manner.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Collaborative team player willing and eager to learn.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a structured environment.
  • Clearance: A SECRET level security clearance is required.


Preferred Requirements

  • TS/SCI is preferred.


Physical Requirements

  • May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
