Full Job Description
Dow has an exciting executive opportunity for a MobilityScience Director based in Midland, MI, or in a Virtual Office location within the Metro Detroit area.

The global transportation industry is undergoing significant transformation, driven by electrification, automation, evolving mobility preferences, and the increasing demand for sustainable, high-performance materials and value chains. As customers and value chain partners accelerate the transition to next-generation mobility, Dow is uniquely positioned to lead through differentiated material science, deep customer partnerships, and enterprise-wide innovation.

The MobilityScience™ Director will serve as the enterprise leader responsible for shaping and accelerating Dow's global mobility growth agenda. This executive will translate market disruption across electrification, battery systems, power electronics, lightweighting, automation, and sustainable materials into scalable commercial opportunities. The role carries end-to-end accountability for building the MobilityScience™ growth platform, advancing strategic customer and value chain engagement, and governing a high-value pipeline of innovation investments that materially grow the business.

Accountabilities:
  • Set and lead the global MobilityScience™ growth strategy, with accountability to deliver greater than $1B in growth through disciplined planning, execution, and performance management.
  • Build and scale Dow's MobilityScience™ growth platform by identifying priority applications, value pools, market opportunities, and strategic bets across the global mobility ecosystem.
  • Accelerate innovation commercialization in partnership with R&D, businesses, regions, and customers, ensuring strategic programs are governed by clear milestones, ownership, investment discipline, and measurable outcomes.
  • Define and activate global brand owner and strategic customer engagement plans that bring one Dow voice to OEMs, tiers, and value chain partners, including joint development and innovation initiatives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and execute strategic investments that strengthen Dow's portfolio, expand market access, and position the company for long-term growth in next-generation mobility.
  • Guide regional and business teams in selecting, staffing, and executing high-impact growth initiatives, ensuring resources, capabilities, and value chain engagement are aligned to enterprise priorities.

Enterprise Ownership:
  • Global MobilityScience™ growth platform strategy, roadmap, operating model, and execution cadence.
  • Prioritization, governance, and decision-making discipline for enterprise growth initiatives, strategic bets, and investment choices.
  • Growth methodologies, tools, playbooks, KPIs, performance tracking, and executive reporting across the platform.
  • Talent strategy, staffing, and capability development for critical growth programs and entrepreneurial platform teams.

Enterprise Influence:
  • Business and regional growth strategies, investment priorities, and portfolio choices tied to mobility growth.
  • Capital allocation decisions and governance mechanisms that enable disciplined growth and enterprise value creation.
  • Product, commercial, customer, and go-to-market priorities across Dow businesses and regions.
  • Talent deployment, leadership capability, and organizational investments required to execute the global mobility agenda.

Success Profile:
  • Enterprise-minded growth leader with exceptional strategic and commercial acumen, capable of translating market disruption into clear growth platforms, investment priorities, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Proven ability to build value chain engagement, deepen strategic customer partnerships, and establish robust opportunity pipelines across complex global markets.
  • Strong command of commercial strategy, including pricing, value propositions, market entry, customer segmentation, and go-to-market execution.
  • Demonstrated success translating strategy into scalable execution models, governance structures, operating rhythms, and cross-functional accountability.
  • Track record of accelerating innovation commercialization through effective partnership with R&D, business, technical, and commercial teams.
  • Inspirational talent developer with the ability to build, coach, and empower entrepreneurial, outcome-oriented teams across regions and functions.
  • Highly influential enterprise leader who can align senior stakeholders, challenge conventional thinking, and drive decisions that create long-term value for Dow.
  • Deep understanding of the automotive value chain and emerging growth platforms in battery, power electronics, lightweighting, and sustainable materials.
  • Outcome orientation measured through technical readiness, pipeline progression, spec-ins, innovation revenue, EBITDA growth, and executive confidence in growth governance and decision quality.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Physics.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the Automotive industry.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and executing enterprise-level or business segment strategic initiatives, including planning, stakeholder alignment, and delivery of measurable business outcomes.
  • Experience leading a globally distributed team and driving alignment, performance, and collaboration across multiple regions and cultures.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
