Full Job Description
Job Title: Mission Architect
Location: Remote
Clearance: Secret or Top Secret
Type: Full-time, W2

Job Summary:
The Mission Architect is the operational effectiveness lead, the person on the team who understands what an aircrew operations scheduler needs, what a training officer needs, and what a stan/eval officer needs, and translates that into platform requirements the development teams can build against. This role works with the product owners and UX/CX strategists to ensure developers build the right capabilities, owns requirements traceability across multiple development teams and the user engagement program. This is a senior role requiring genuine operational credibility with the DAF aircrew community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own the program-level requirements traceability matrix (RTM) mapping all requirements to sprint deliveries and Government COR acceptance events
  • Lead operational user engagement: facilitate Government-directed user research sessions with schedulers, SARMs, pilots, stan/eval officers, and training officers across multiple MAJCOMs
  • Translate operational context into backlog-ready acceptance criteria that product owners refine into user stories
  • Own user satisfaction and usability measurement program across an incremental user acceptance test cycle; aggregate results and report to PM and Government stakeholders
  • Participate in all agile ceremonies as the operational effectiveness voice; surface usability and mission-alignment concerns before acceptance
  • Builds and maintains the production migration plan and provide operational context
  • Support development of training materials with subject matter expertise on DAF operational workflows
  • Serve as an authoritative POC and trusted advisor to senior government stakeholders

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Current or former DAF aircrew, scheduler, SARM, or training officer; or 5+ years supporting DAF flight operations
  • Experience authoring user stories, acceptance criteria, requirements, and/or requirement traceability matrices
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate user research and translate operational feedback into actionable development requirements
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and executive communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Prior experience in DoD/IC acquisition programs
  • Prior experience executing a program/project using agile program management principles
