Full Job Description
Missile Defense System Architecture Engineer

Contingent upon prime contractor approval

Purpose:
  • Valkyrie Enterprises has need for a Missile Defense System Architecture Engineer in Huntsville, AL working Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Chief Architect's Directorate
  • In this role you will be leading or participating in analysis of future Missile Defense System (MDS) architectures and concepts, along with modeling and simulation (M&S) tool development to support MDS architecture assessment

Job Description:
  • Assess missile defense system capability gaps, challenges, needs, and opportunities against current and future threats to develop potential architecture solutions that mitigate gaps and/or improve performance
  • Assist with the development of analysis plans, execute MDS simulation tools utilizing the DoD High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems, assess analysis results, prepare analysis briefs/reports, and provide reviews of analysis products
  • Aid in modeling & simulation (M&S) efforts related to the above to tailor tools to specific analysis plans

Qualifications:
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM Field with at least 7 years of experience in missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program/project.
  • Must have a solid understanding of the current MDS architecture and future concepts
  • Must have the experience in modeling, assessment, and evaluation of future missile defense architectures
  • Must have experience with MATLAB.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance preferred.
  • Experience with the definition and use of advanced concepts and algorithms for the M&S of MDS architectures preferred.
  • Experience with M&S and analysis of MDS architectures involving both directed and kinetic energy weapons and other future concepts preferred.
  • Experience with HPC Systems, Python, and Git is a plus.
  • Experience with BMD Benchmark preferred.
  • Experience supporting systems engineering-related architecture design activities preferred.
  • Ability to perform technology assessment & analysis and provide insight on the utility of potentially useful technologies preferred.
  • Specialized MDS analysis experience in: threat characterization, trajectories, RF sensing/signatures, and/or EO/IR sensing/signatures preferred.
  • MBSE experience related to missile defense system architectures preferred.

Security Requirements:
  • Active Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI

Travel Requirements:
  • Minimal Travel; 10% or less
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Able to sit and work on a computer for long periods of time
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another

  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds
