POSITION SUMMARY:

The Mine Operations Coordinator is a key frontline leader at the Bradshaw Mine Site, directly responsible for driving contractor performance to meet production, safety, and operational goals.

Reporting to the Mine Operations General Foreman, and working closely with the Mine Operations Superintendent, this role leads the execution of the underground mining plan, ensures alignment between contractors and company expectations, and fosters a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, capable of holding contractors accountable while providing clear direction and support to achieve daily and long-term targets.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to contractor crew supervision to ensure safe, timely, and efficient execution of the underground mine plan.
  • Monitor contractor performance against production targets, KPIs, and quality standards; take corrective action where needed to meet or exceed objectives.
  • Set clear expectations around task execution, timelines, and safety performance.
  • Ensure the right personnel, equipment, and materials are in place for each shift to achieve production goals.
  • Champion a safety-first culture through active leadership, visibility underground, and consistent communication of safety expectations.
  • Conduct regular risk and hazard assessments and ensure contractors comply with site safety protocols, policies, and government regulations.
  • Support a proactive, value-based safety management system that emphasizes employee engagement and continuous improvement.
  • Execute the daily and weekly mining plan in coordination with Mine Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams.
  • Identify and respond to bottlenecks or emerging issues in real time to minimize delays and production losses.
  • Maintain accurate shift reports and communicate key updates to the Mine Operations General Foreman and Superintendent.
  • Ensure alignment between underground operations and overall site strategy.
  • Foster a high-performance culture based on ownership, accountability, and mutual respect between company personnel and contractors.
  • Promote workforce development by identifying opportunities for training and performance improvement.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and team dynamics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum 7 years of underground mining experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or coordination role.
  • Proven experience leading and driving contractor performance in an underground mining environment.
  • Strong knowledge of underground mining methods, ideally within narrow vein gold operations.
  • In-depth understanding of Ontario's Mining Act, Occupational Health & Safety legislation, and site compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead crews, set clear expectations, and hold teams accountable for safety and production performance.
  • Educational background in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related technical field is considered an asset.
  • Experience with continuous improvement tools or methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is an advantage.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Well-developed ability to interpret technical documents, production reports, and operational plans.
  • Solid understanding of mine budgets and production cost drivers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Basic First Aid certification is an asset.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Must possess a valid Class G Ontario Driver's License.
  • Must be willing and able to relocate to Timmins, Ontario.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • The role is located at the Frankfield Property, which is in the southwest part of Tully Township, approximately 32 km north-northeast of the City of Timmins, Ontario
  • The ideal candidate for the role will work a rotation of 7 days on and 7 days off (12-hour days). Although you will be assigned a work schedule, this is not a guaranteed schedule of hours, and your work hours may vary with the needs of the company.
